Dance Costume Shop Employee Perspective

After working with the girls from costuming, I was able to talk to them about what they’ve enjoyed the most about working at the Dance Costume Shop. It was great to see them work and just how much time and effort goes into everything. I wanted to come away with what they enjoyed the most about the work they do in the shop, not only so I knew the benefit of working in the costuming industry, but also to share that with in the presentations I gave to the apparel classes.

Below are the answers of each of the girls I was working with when asked, “What has been your favorite part about working in the Dance Costume Shop?” :

“I like seeing it all come together in the end.” - Claire

“I like seeing my artwork on stage and knowing it’s seen by other people. And the experience working with other seamstresses and customers.” - Abby

“Getting paid to sew. To do something I enjoy and to gain experience directly in the field I want to pursue.” - Camille

“Working with fabrics I don’t typically get to work with.” - Kat
